Who we are
Expnse (“we”, “us”) provides tools to import, categorize, and analyze purchase receipts.
Information we collect
- Account info via Google OAuth (name, email).
- Account info via Microsoft OAuth (name, email).
- Gmail (read-only receipts): subjects, snippets, parsed totals, vendor, dates.
- Billing metadata via Stripe (we don’t store card numbers).
- Technical logs for security/troubleshooting.
How we use information
- Provide and improve the service (import, categorization, dashboard).
- Secure the platform and prevent abuse.
- Process payments and manage subscriptions.
Gmail limited use disclosure
Expnse’s use of information received from Gmail APIs adheres to Google’s API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use. We request gmail.readonly only to fetch your receipt messages; we don’t sell or share Gmail data and use it solely to provide features you request.
Microsoft API usage
Expnse’s use of information received from Microsoft APIs adheres to Microsoft’s API Terms of Use. We request read-only access to your Outlook mailbox to locate and process receipts. We don’t sell or share Microsoft data and use it solely to provide the import and categorization features you request.
Data retention & deletion
You can delete your data anytime from Settings → Delete account. We remove stored receipts, categories, and authentication tokens.
Security
- Tokens encrypted at rest; database hosted by Supabase.
- Transport over HTTPS only.
